Research Project: Accessible Online Tasks for Visually impaired people

The project uses questionnaires and interviews to understand the work and problems of blind people workers on mainstream Japanese and English crowdsourcing platforms. Then, for problems of the web page tasks and tabular-like tasks, proposed automated solutions. The goal of the project is to make more accessible microtasks to visual-impaired people and let more visually impaired people work as crowd workers. This project shows that consistency in navigation is an important factor and choosing important images to add alt text on the web page is important to understand the online microtasks. We also proposed a principled framework that develops consistent non-visual microtasks and a method of adding the alt text by combining crowdsourcing and AI. This project is the first to look at the work of visually impaired people on crowdsourcing platforms. This project can expand the work of visually impaired people.

Research Project: A Study of the Image Styles of Meme——the case of FollowMeTo on Instagram

This project is to analyze the characteristics of popular images and the similarities and differences between the imitators. This project hopes to explore the following three issues by means of data exploration and content analysis:1) How are popular image styles on social media established and what are the characteristics? 2) How does meme maintain and change on social media? 3) Will meme have a specific image style? This project established a research method by content analysis and image analysis based on the image itself to study social media.

The Covenant of the Elves

Development of VR Alice’s Adventure System:“Does human body size affect recognition of the environment?”

In this project, we simulated a change in the body size of the viewer by using the VR Alice's experience system made of large space and wearable devices. Our goal is to study how body size affects the recognition of the environment. The project simulated the feeling of changes in body size by the changes seen in the scene and puts the scene on the large space. This is the system with 4 parts, namely large space, wrist device, shoe tracker and main computer.

Application: Listen to Poems

This project is a mobile application for Chinese poetry. The project is designed to provide a platform for reading, sharing, communicating and learning for lovers of Chinese poetry. This application includes poetry search, poetry reading recording, automatic generation of poetry, poetry sharing and other functions. Before the application development, I made a functional analysis of several common poetry learning applications and found that most applications only have a searching function, lack of fun. So this application adds automatic generation of poetry, community function, and poetry style analysis, to increase interest.

Pototype: CHaild

The project is a project on behavioral imaging of autistic children in collaboration with the Children Center in Japan. For therapists, there are a lot of jobs, such as observing children’s behavior, writing the note, intervening behavior, writing a report and so on. Split attention caused missed behavior and not 100% best for children. Our solution is the video analysis service for processing any video source (camera, smartphone, 360 degrees, multi-angle). Therapists can select target behavior. Our service returns the frequency and intensity of behavior. Our program is dedicated to the Autistic Children's Center and will be available in the home in the future. Our project has been well received by professionals.

Online System: Fu Jen Catholic University Public Space Reservation System

This is a public space reservation system developed for our university. The system is developed with Java's web framework Spring, Struts2, Hibernate.

HomeLamp is house-shaped smart furniture. The core of the circuit is Arduino. User can change the flashing state of the light by touching the state button, and express your current state without disturbing the other person, such as blue and purple lights for busy, breathing lights for sleep, warm white lights for home, dark light for leaving. This product is suitable for family contact between two places, but also has the function of the bedside lamp.

VR Artworks: Imagine

We built a space-time train in VR's virtual space, where viewers can experience different scenes of time and space, and each window of the train will show a different space-time scene. There are three kinds of scenes -- cities, ruins and grasslands, symbolizing the three different times and space of urban development and the natural contradiction of the initial grassland. The concept of "imagine" comes from the "windows", which are an important medium for dividing space, and the train has the window angles to view the world of different time and space, exploring the various effects of "time" on the world.
